3025B phenolic cotton cloth laminate, commonly known as bakelite cotton board, is made by impregnating cotton cloth with phenolic resin and hot-pressing it into a tough, machinable board. Its fine cotton-cloth reinforcement gives it excellent machinability and good mechanical strength.
With dielectric strength ≥10 kV/mm, flexural strength ≥100 MPa and Class E heat resistance, 3025B is widely used for insulating gears, washers, bushings and sliding parts. The cotton reinforcement also provides good wear resistance and a degree of self-lubrication.
